Rebic scored the first goal for AC Milan in their Serie A match against Bologna after Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed from the penalty spot for the fourth time this season.
Rebic took advantage of the fact the goalkeeper was unable to hold onto the ball and he put it in the back of the net.
AC Milan’s first goal on matchday 20 in Serie A involved Ibrahimovic and Rebic. The former saw his penalty saved while the latter got on the end of the rebound to open the scoring.
Zlatan had already missed back on matchday four in Serie A against Inter, in the Europa League group stage against Sparta Prague and on Serie A matchday seven versus Hellas Verona. This is, therefore, the fourth time he has missed from the spot.
For Rebic, it is his second goal this season. The last time he scored was on 23rd December in the home match with Lazio which ended 3-2. Although the Croatian is not scoring goals regularly this season, he appeared when he was most needed.
From Ibra’s perspective, this mistake is now proof of him failing to score from the spot. However, Zlatan is one of the best strikers in Italy and he is going through a second youth there.
