Barcelona are still shocked at how Leo Messi’s contract became public knowledge. They have now ordered an internal investigation to find out how ‘El Mundo’ got hold of that document.
‘El Mundo’ caused shockwaves at Barcelona after releasing the details of Leo Messi’s contract. It revealed that Messi would receive 555 million euros between 2017, when he last signed his contract, and 2021.
Barcelona hit back in an official statement in which they denied they were responsible for the leak and said they would take legal action.
At the same time, Leo Messi’s lawyers also decided to look at the people who knew about his contract, to try and identify who leaked it. According to ‘Marca’, Bartomeu, Oscar Grau, Tusquets and two more people knew about the Argentine’s contract.
‘AS’ haas reported this Tuesday that Barca’s company committee has asked for there to be an internal investigation in the club to try and find out where all the information came from.
‘RAC1’ explained that Barca want to get the bottom of a matter which they consider to be very important.
The Compliance Officer will be the person responsible for carrying out this internal investigation and the idea is to give an answer soon. The latest person to do this was Noelia Romero with regards to the I3Ventures scandal and she was sacked by Bartomeu.
