Argentinian striker Angel Correa has offered Messi the chance to play for Atletico Madrid if he decides to leave Barcelona.
In addition, he confessed that Simeone is thinking of coaching Argentina “in some moment.”
Atletico Madrid player Angel Correa said this Tuesday that his compatriot Lionel Messi has “the doors open” if he wants to leave Barcelona and sign for Atletico. He also revealed what Diego Simeone’s wish is.
“Atletico Madrid open their doors to Messi,” Correa told ‘TyC Sports’ when he was asked about whether Messi could do the same as his good friend Luis Suarez and swap Barcelona for the team from the capital.
“You can’t understand how Barcelona let a number nine like Suarez go. He’s an incredible striker, we’re super happy to have him here with us. If he gets a half chance, he turns it into a goal. I hope he continues in such good form because we all want to end this season happy,” Correa stated.
Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand on the rest, have 50 points, 10 more than Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 25 year-old attacking winger also said once again that he would like to play for Rosario Central, the club he supports, sometime.
“We are from there. We like Argentinian football, the atmosphere there is, it’s not the same as in Europe, we miss that,” he said.
Correa also revealed that his coach, Diego Simeone, “is thinking about coaching Argentina one day”
