While we’re counting down the days until 21 June after the roadmap to end lockdown was unveiled, there’s still one more major decision we’re awaiting with bated breath: will Love Island go ahead this year?
There’s been much speculation about the ITV2 dating show finally returning to our screens this summer after last year’s series was postponed due to the pandemic, with reports claiming producers are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s edition “the biggest in show history”.
Well, the show’s host, Laura Whitmore, has provided an update on the new series – and it’s looking promising.
“I have been told that it’s coming back,” she told Stella magazine.
Laura added, “I love doing it, it’s such a fun show. And I actually think it’s been good to have had that break, for everyone who works on it, because we all went through a loss.
“It’s nice to realise how much people missed the show. Apparently applications are crazy this year. Let’s just pray the vaccines kick in.”
HURRAH. We’ve got everything crossed.
